I really valued learning how to remove vocals from this song, 'Better Than Revenge' by Taylor Swift, because I now have the ability to either add new lyrics to or make an instrumental version of any song for karaoke or pure enjoyment. Natalie and I decided to write our parody song about our frustrations towards nepotism and “nepo babies” in the entertainment industry. We found the process of writing new lyrics extremely amusing, and we even poked fun at ourselves for mocking said “nepo babies”. Although I am proud of our songwriting, I think that I personally could improve my lyric-removing skills because some of Taylor Swift's original lyrics are still audible. Another aspect of this project that I enjoyed was getting the privilege to use the recording studio. It was an entirely new experience for me, and I would love to learn more about recording music.
